Concept Explanation

A quadrilateral has four sides. Common types: square, rectangle, parallelogram, rhombus, trapezium, and kite.

Key Properties

  • Square: all sides equal, all angles 90°. Area = side².
  • Rectangle: opposite sides equal, all angles 90°. Area = length × breadth.
  • Parallelogram: Area = base × height.
  • Rhombus: Area = ½ × d1 × d2.
  • Trapezium: Area = ½ × (sum of parallel sides) × height.

Angle Sum

Sum of interior angles of any quadrilateral = 360°.

Common Trap

Slant side is not the height of a parallelogram unless it is perpendicular to the base.
